SAVE AFRICAN RHINO FOUNDATION INC
International Activities
Our biggest project, $544,000 is Save Valley Conservancy, SE Zimbabwe, home to over 295 rhinos, where we are their biggest donor in a budget of over USD500,000. We pay wages for 45 rangers and 2 managers, plus vehicle support, communication equipment and field kit. It includes another landcruiser for the rhino monitoring team, to supplement the four we have given over the past 10 years, plus 24 motorbikes we had donated over the past 8 years and 2 technologically advanced drones to assist with antipoaching efforts. We support their rhino ear notching program annually, 16 sub adults having been notched three weeks ago. A further $44,000 was spent on logistical and infrastructure support in a number of Government national parks, particularly in Sinamatella, Matobo, Chipinge, Hwange and Zambezi, as well as $23,000 for the endangered desert rhinos of NW Namibia. Other private rhino projects in Zimbabwe received a token $23,000, and $20,000 went to non rhino wildlife projects.
