Systems Chemistry Australia Limited
Systems Chemistry Australia partnered with Sena Ltd in Reykjavik, Iceland to support the latter and the cochairs; the Chairperson Prof. Pall Thordarson, Prof. Krishna Damodaran (Iceland) and Prof. Thorfinnur Gunnlaugsson (Ireland) in running the International Symposium of Macrocyclic and Supramolecular Chemistry (ISMSC) in Reykjavik, Iceland 2529th June 2023. Sena managed the conference, collecting registration fees and sponsorship with Sena, Systems Chemistry Australia (on behalf of Pall Thordarson) and the other two cochairs splitting the risk/profits of the conference.. The conference was a success with over 500 people attending. Sena intended to complete the finances in early 2024 but delays with getting some outstanding invoices paid delayed this to the end of 2024 with the latest estimate that Systems Chemistry Australia will receive around $2500 from the surplus of this meeting. As a promotional event for systems chemistry and supramolecular chemistry the ISMSC in Iceland was a resounding success. Over 20 scientists from Australia were amongst the 500 people at the meeting. Systems Chemistry Australia also gave support for running the NSW Student Computational Chemistry a topic of significant importance within systems chemistry Meeting in Kiama, NSW on 1012th July 2023 with Dr. Junming Ho (UNSW) as the chair. The conference itself was a success with 45 people attending and the conference making a$4100 split between the FY2223 and FY2324. The organisation also continued to be a named supporter of the Opendatafit / supramolecular.org project. This project has now served over 30,000 users and + 80,000 citations in the literature from scientists around the world.
