RIDDELLS CREEK NEIGHBOURHOOD HOUSE INC
he past year at the Neighbourhood House has been full and varied. Through the twists and turns of community life, we have connected to those in our little town through social groups, courses and events. We have provided opportunities for the community to embrace moments of joy and connection that enrich their days and our collective spirit. We’re proud to be the heart and hub of the community. What follows is a snapshot of some of our activities and highlights from across the year. We continued to offer a varied and interesting program throughout the year which catered for a range of ages and interests and facilitated likeminded individuals to connect and share their love and enjoyment of various activities. Activities that provide social connection, focus on health and wellbeing, creativity, children and seniors are among them. As evidenced by the number of participants that regularly attend their group or course of interest, the House can be a busy place with sometimes over 120 visits a week! We have offered activities for reflection and relaxation including yoga, meditation, Tai Chi in the garden, a regular walking group and our women s circle. For parents seeking a moment of tranquillity, our Babes and Breath program offered breathwork sessions to provide a moment of respite to parents, while the little ones explored the surrounding garden. Mahjong continues to be a popular activity at the house with sessions running three times a week. We re very lucky to still have our tutor Ron running his monthly refresher sessions, which provide ongoing guidance and skills to our players.
