International Activities

Hanaru Women s Health Fundraising Inc has been established in Australia to raise funds and awareness about the plight of schoolgirls and women in India. They are disadvantaged and discriminated against because of social normalities and taboos. We provide menstrual health education and a Hanaru sanitary kit to schoolgirls in slums and remote areas for free. Hanaru designs and organises the production of fabrics in Taiwan. Our printed grid system makes it easy for local women to hand make the sanitary napkins and provides for accountability. We carefully selected the most practical fabrics, made from PET bottles, so that schoolgirls in slums can hand-wash and dry the napkins with ease. We train and employ women in the production, and then our ambassadors provide schoolgirls with menstrual health education and reusable sanitary napkins. The amount of money donated determines how many girls receive our support.
