North Stradbroke Island Historical Museum Assoc Inc
Our charity s activities directly advanced the mission by preserving and sharing the cultural and historical heritage of Minjerribah, while strengthening community connections. Over the past year we: Protected collections and stories: catalogued artefacts, refreshed exhibition spaces, and ran conservation programs that kept the island s history accessible for locals and visitors. Increased public access and engagement: extended opening hours at the Museum, hosted guided tours and artist talks, and delivered outreach events such as the Volunteers Outing and the upcoming book launches all designed to make the island s heritage more visible and welcoming. Supported learning and cultural exchange: partnered with Quandamooka community representatives and schools to deliver handson workshops, which brought intergenerational knowledge into classrooms and onto the exhibition floor. Strengthened governance and sustainability: improved financial systems, developed riskmanagement frameworks, and secured new selfgenerated revenue streams that allow us to keep services affordable while maintaining compliance with ACNC and ATO requirements. Each of these steps tied back to our overarching aim: to safeguard Minjerribah s heritage and ensure the Museum remains a trusted, vibrant space for education, research, and community connection.
