Our clinical trials and treatments have achieved remarkable success. This year, we have seen an increasing number of patients enter longterm remission, particularly those with refractory ulcerative colitis and irritable bowel syndrome. Patients often describe our treatment as transformative, with many experiencing lifechanging improvements after undergoing faecal transplantation therapy. Out of the 44 patients treated for refractory ulcerative colitis, 34 remain in remission without the need for further immunosuppressive or immunomodulatory therapies. Our work in irritable bowel syndrome is equally promising. The small group of patients treated have not only experienced relief from symptoms but, in several cases, report being symptomfree for up to three years. These results reflect the profound impact that our therapies are having on patients’ lives and are a testament to our team’s dedication. As ORCA continues to grow, so does our team. This year, we welcomed Research Nurse Lyn Nguyen to our staff. Lyn has played an instrumental role in supporting our patients, collecting and organizing data, and preparing our research for presentation and publication. Her dedication to patient followup has been invaluable in ensuring the longterm success of our treatments and understanding the full impact of our therapies. This year, our collaborations with researchers and medical professionals have taken significant steps forward. We continue to work closely with Professor Tom Borody and his team at the University of Western Sydney. Discussions surrounding a multicenter trial of our FMT technique have progressed, and ethics committee approval has been granted. We are currently in the process of securing funding, which will allow us to launch this exciting study involving approximately 40 patients. We are hopeful that this trial will replicate the success we have seen in our patients, further validating FMT as a therapeutic option for ulcerative colitis and irritable bowel syndrome. This year, we had the privilege of presenting our findings to medical professionals at the Townsville University Hospital. For the third consecutive year, our results generated significant interest and enthusiasm. As we continue to engage with the broader medical community, we are excited to share our work and expand the reach of FMT as a viable treatment for various conditions. We are immensely grateful for the generous donations we have received this year, which have allowed us to continue our groundbreaking research. These contributions have brought us closer to our goal of establishing a new, stateoftheart research lab on site. This dedicated space will help streamline our research processes, allowing us to further improve patient outcomes and accelerate the pace of our discoveries.
