WA teacher of the deaf again conducted training with teachers and parents of deaf and hard of hearing children at Karya Mulia School for Deaf Children in Surabaya. Learning modules were livestreamed to reach a wider audience. An audit of ageing equipment and staff needs at the 5 Resource and Communication Centres was undertaken. HAEJ maintained links to key figures in the East Java and Australian Government officials , to ensure the charity’s work is recognised and supported. We also continued advocating for recognition of the profession of clinical audiology to enable a world standard model of hearing health care to be established in East Java, enabling all infants to be tested and where needed, equipped with hearing aids/Cochlear implants and support to enable them to learn and reach their full potential.
